I'm increasingly convinced that the Washington press corps suffers from histrionic personality disorder. For much of the first half of 2012, the stories coming out of the nation's capital were generally about the weakness of the Republican presidential field, Mitt Romney's difficulty securing his base, President Obama's burgeoning lead, and the economy finally gaining steam.
