A woman is set to lead GPO for the first time

A woman will lead the Government Printing Office for the first time, once the current boss steps down by year’s end.

Public Printer William Boarman, who is set to leave GPO soon after failing to earn a Senate confirmation vote, has tapped his chief of staff Davita Vance-Cooks to serve as the agency’s new deputy director. Once Boarman leaves, Vance-Cooks will assume the top spot, the agency said Tuesday.
